Smash KYC & AML Policy

Smash operates under a United Kingdom licence and is legally required to apply Know Your Customer (KYC) and Anti-Money Laundering (AML) procedures across all account activity. These obligations are designed to protect users, prevent financial crime, and ensure that the platform remains a safe and compliant environment. All users registered on Smash are subject to these requirements as a condition of continued access to the platform.

The Purpose of KYC and AML at Smash

Smash applies KYC and AML processes to verify each account holder’s identity, prevent fraud, and address financial crime at every level of platform activity. The following principles underpin these obligations:

  • Fair play for all registered users, with consistent enforcement of rules across the platform;
  • User safety through verified account ownership and monitored transaction behaviour;
  • Full transparency in how personal data is collected, stored, and used in compliance reviews;
  • Adherence to all regulatory requirements set by the United Kingdom Gambling Commission and relevant financial legislation;
  • Prevention of unauthorised access and misuse of accounts or payment instruments;
  • Protection of the platform’s integrity for all participants.

KYC Requirements and Document Submission

Every new user must complete identity verification before accessing certain platform features, including withdrawals and participation in specific promotions. The following document categories may be requested during the ID verification process:

  • Government-issued photographic identification, such as a valid passport, national identity card, or driving licence;
  • Proof of address, such as a recent utility bill, bank statement, or official correspondence dated within the past three months;
  • Confirmation of payment method ownership, such as a bank statement or screenshot showing the account holder’s name and relevant payment details;
  • Additional documentation may be requested at the discretion of the compliance team, particularly in cases where enhanced due diligence is required;
  • All documents submitted must be clear, unaltered, and valid at the time of submission.

AML Measures and Transaction Monitoring

Smash implements a structured set of controls to prevent money laundering, counter-terrorism financing, and other forms of financial crime across its platform. The following security measures are applied on an ongoing basis:

  • Continuous transaction monitoring to identify patterns inconsistent with normal account behaviour;
  • Automated detection rules that flag unusual deposits, withdrawals, or wagering patterns for further review;
  • Enhanced due diligence procedures applied to accounts associated with high-risk events or elevated activity thresholds;
  • Manual review of large or unusual transfers that fall outside established parameters for a given account profile;
  • Risk scoring applied to user accounts based on activity history, geographic indicators, and transaction volume;
  • Screening against international sanctions lists and Politically Exposed Persons (PEP) databases;
  • Reporting of suspicious activity to the relevant United Kingdom authorities in accordance with legal reporting obligations.

Prohibited Activities

Smash enforces strict account protection policies to support its KYC and AML obligations and to maintain a fair and secure platform. The following actions are expressly prohibited:

  • Operating more than one account on the platform, whether under the same or a different identity;
  • Submitting forged, altered, or stolen documents during the ID verification process;
  • Conducting any activity that constitutes or facilitates money laundering or financial crime;
  • Attempting to manipulate platform systems, including wagering patterns designed to obscure fund origins;
  • Transferring, selling, or otherwise granting access to a registered account to any third party;
  • Using payment instruments that do not belong to the registered account holder;
  • Providing false or misleading personal data at any stage of registration or verification.

Consequences of Non-Compliance

Any breach of Smash’s KYC or AML obligations will result in enforcement action, proportionate to the nature and severity of the violation. Measures that may be applied include temporary or permanent account suspension, freezing or confiscation of funds linked to suspicious activity, cancellation of bets or associated winnings derived from non-compliant conduct, and reporting to competent United Kingdom authorities where applicable.

User Responsibilities

Each account holder bears personal responsibility for the accuracy and completeness of the information provided to Smash. Users must ensure that all personal data submitted during registration and verification is truthful, current, and updated promptly should any details change. Identity verification must be completed within any timeframes specified by the compliance team, and failure to respond to requests for additional documentation may result in account restrictions. All payment methods used on the platform must be registered in the account holder’s own name, and use of third-party payment instruments is not permitted. Any suspicious activity observed in connection with an account should be reported to the Smash support team without delay.

Fair Play and Transparency at Smash

  • Full adherence to KYC and AML standards as required by United Kingdom legislation and Gambling Commission guidelines;
  • Confidentiality and lawful protection of personal data in accordance with applicable data protection regulations;
  • Ongoing monitoring for suspicious activity to safeguard the platform and its user base;
  • Prevention of manipulation, unfair conduct, and any behaviour that compromises the integrity of the platform;
  • Access to dedicated user support on matters relating to account security and safety;
  • Shared responsibility between the platform and its users in maintaining a compliant environment;
  • Equal application of rules and conditions for all registered users, without exception.
